Research Interests
I am a specialist in new media and modern and contemporary art. I have extensive travel and research experience in Central and Eastern Europe (including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, Ukraine (Fulbright, 2005).
I also do research in computational art & computer science applications to art and art history. Over the last several years, I have been working as a member of his Art & Artificial Intelligence Lab, Rutgers University, co-authoring several working papers https://sites.google.com/site/digihumanlab/home Some of this work was recently highlighted by the College of Charleston http://today.cofc.edu/2018/02/16/computer-art/
Our work has two main emphases: creativity in machine learning, and neural network analysis of art historical styles and patterns of visual characteristics for prediction.
