Erin Joyce is an independent curator, art critic, and scholar of contemporary art. She is an art critic for Hyperallergic, an arts writer for Canvas Magazine, writer for Art.sy, and faculty in the department of Comparative Cultural Studies at Northern Arizona University.  She will speak about the exhibition YOU ARE ON INDIAN LAND, curated by Erin Joyce Projects, which presents the work of  leading Contemporary American Indian and First Nations artists from across the North American continent.

“NEW PERSPECTIVES CONCERNING THE AD-DEIR MONUMENT & PLATEAU VIA DRONE IMAGERY AND EXCAVATIONS AT PETRA, JORDAN”
Dr. Finlayson has extensive archaeological excavation and cultural heritage site development experience in Syria and Jordan. She is the current director of the Ad-Deir Monument and Plateau Project in Petra, Jordan and acting director of the Syro-American expeditions to both Palmyra and Apamea. At Apamea she directs the excavation and restoration of the Great Roman Theater of Apamea, that vies with the Large Theater at Ephesus for the title of largest extant Roman theater in the world.

SIMONS MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE AWARD

Robert A.M. Stern, FAIA
Robert A.M. Stern is a practicing architect, teacher, and writer. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and received the AIA New York Chapter's Medal of Honor in 1984 and the Chapter's President's Award in 2001. Mr. Stern is the 2011 Driehaus Prize laureate and in 2008 received the tenth Vincent Scully Prize from the National Building Museum. In 2007, he received both the Athena Award from the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Board of Directors' Honor from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America. As founder and Senior Partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects, he personally directs the design of each of the firm's projects.

Stephanie Meeks has been the president and chief executive officer of the National Trust for Historic Preservation since July 2010. Under her leadership, the National Trust has developed an ambitious strategic plan designed to refocus direct action on saving imperiled places, engage new audiences in preservation, and increase the organization’s impact by a factor of ten.
